Low factory inventory turns into dealers needing more cars

There has been a taxpayer auto bailout because of the economic climate of recession, which, reports Automotive News, doesn’t give comfort to the auto makers. It appears like it is more common practice to have low factory inventory now. You will find more individuals getting cars but dealers do not have the cars they have to sell them. An online survey found that more than 160 of 244 responding dealers – representing the spectrum of automotive brands – had too few automobiles to sell. This caused a loss in sales. Numerous in the survey reported this loss.

Business goes down with low inventory

Dealerships are losing business through low inventory. Customers leave unsatisfied with what happened. One of the most popular brands of car to purchase are Chevy, Hyundai, Honda or GMC. Unfortunately, these are also the ones running out because of unavailability. One dealer told Automotive News that automakers “have driven supplies too low,” yet dealers like him are certain they could sell more if stock was accessible. Cars like the GMC Terrain tend to be among probably the most problematic autos to acquire for dealers, yet makers like General Motors, Ford and the Chrysler continue to take a hard line on boosting profits when maintaining low inventory. Dealers do not like this cut from automakers.

Factories working on it

Overproduction could possibly be really bad for an automaker trying to stay in business. Although helping dealers is really essential, it is also important to keep them going. Dealers are nervous too. They’d rather sell all the cars than get more cars than they can sell. The old days of gigantic incentives, low resale values and other desperation practices must be avoided at all costs, GM spokesman Tom Henderson told Automotive News. You will find some things that have to be done. GM has been changing a part of a plant in Ingersoll, Ontario to create more bodies showing that Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain need more cars to meet demand. There isn’t any room in the plant to finish bodies in there with paint and finish. GM has to send the bodies two hours east to get all this done.
